One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. Our server was Azad, and he was great. Kept everything flowing and gave great service and dinner recommendations. I had the scalloped daikon and mushroom dish that was fabulous. The daikon and mushrooms were perfectly cut to resemble scallops. Was a beautiful dish as well. Seasoned perfectly and portioned well. I decided on Azad's recommendation to add salmon which was cooked perfectly medium rare as I requested. My partner had the halibut which was also cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

What an amazing place the food was FABULOUS, the service was incredible, Gerard was our server and took great care of us of us. We are here from out of town, but come visit yearly, we will definitely return. Great ambiance, there was music playing but we were able to have great conversation.

I was looking for a restaurant with great menu selection, relaxing atmosphere, and a great bar, found it. Adam was my server, but I felt all of the staff worked as one, making sure I felt welcome. I didn't have to wait forever to get my food. Adam was very professional and helpful with suggestions.

Let me start by saying we chose this restaurant because of reading about its inclusion on a list of James Beard semifinalists. We were a party of 4, 2 of which were running 15 mins. late. We ordered a bottle of wine and a cocktail. Sourdough bread was ordered for the table along with the carrots panise. The carrots were particularly good. We then placed our mains, trout, porchetta for two and a Bibb salad with salmon. Our shareables were the potatoes and asparagus. The porchetta was amazing, salsa verde and castelvatrano olives accompanied the dish. Service was fine. A caveat* this is not an intimate dining experience. It is loud. And with an open kitchen you would expect this.

This restaurant was literally amazing. We came to celebrate a special occasion and our waitress went above and beyond to make the night memorable. She gave us a complimentary champagne toast and dessert. The food was delicious as well. It was also super cute on the inside, and very picturesque. This is a great option if you want a nice date night or special celebration.

Had a later reservation and the place was still pretty full. Absolutely GORGEOUS restaurant with an amazing backstory as to why it's named what it is due to the location. Drinks were good but nothing crafty or unique. Took awhile to get the apps even though it was just oysters & bread plate. My partner got the gnocchi was delicious but I got the eye fish - this dish was flavorless and not worth it. Dessert was puff pastry which was sub average as well. Our server whose name I can't remember was nice & took good care of us. She did not seem to have an extreme interest of trying to upsell or recommend any dishes for us. Due to a mix up though she gave us an espresso martini on the house which was kind. Go for the atmosphere but maybe just get some starters and go somewhere else for the main.

Ambiance was amazing with a three piece band playing light jazz! Server accommodated our extra one and was very patient when you thad to tally the bill! Food was amazing and I love how the menu played tribute to Black History month! Definitely a repeat but booking a room to enjoy the whole experience! Right in the heart of downtown, you can't go wrong! Plus, I remember this place as a child being a fire station!

Absolutely loved the giant windows, the beautiful bar and atmosphere of the place. Our server was energetic, helpful and made our experience so fun! I was a bit disappointed in the food, it was a bit underwhelming for the price. The 13-year sourdough bread was unique and stole the show for me. The Striploin was $75 and 1/3 of my steak was just fat. The seasoning and the salad was amazing, but for the price point, it didn't match the quality.

This restaurant is situated within the Foundation Hotel and was the former headquarters of the Detroit Fire Department, which gives it a unique and charming character. The ambiance is well-designed and incredibly comfortable, making it the perfect spot for special occasions. What sets this place apart is their team of highly knowledgeable chefs and their ever-changing menu. The staff is not only professional but also well-informed about the dishes they serve. Their food is innovative and flavorful, yet not so much that it's intimidating. Every time I dine here, I leave feeling completely satisfied and eagerly looking forward to my next visit!
